The Pierce Lab consists of various members from graduate students, honours thesis students and research assistants who work in a collaborative environment to help each other out. The lab culture is one of productivity, encouragement, and openness to new ideas along with new methods of conducting research. There are many opportunities to learn and grow along with your peers as a member of the Pierce Lab.

We hope to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels free to share their ideas, inquiries, and questions with the group. Everyone is treated with the same respect, support, and kindness to encourage novel points of view.

We encourage a variety of different perspectives and backgrounds in both the participating families along with the members of the lab. We strive to make our research accessible and significant for not only the participants but also for the general public.

The Pierce Experience & Development Lab is committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of inclusion and connectedness by enforcing York University’s anti-discrimination policies. Our lab has been able to grow and learn better together with a diverse team of researchers and students from different backgrounds and with unique perspectives. In recruiting for our team, we welcome the unique contributions that new students can bring in terms of education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, the nation of origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation and beliefs.
